"June Bug Line" herald
from ARC 100. According to local legend, the line
gained its nickname when a promoter, boasting of
the mineral wealth of a Hiddenite mine along the
original Statesville & Western route, stated
that "a june bug could fly away with enough
on its wings to pay for the whole railroad."
