Georgia Northeastern Tate,
GA depot. The only L&N "Old Line"
depot still used by a railroad, the structure is
used as a crew base and business office. Built in
1916, the depot is located at the corner of
Georgia Highway 53 and Railroad Street. Photo

GNRR NW2 81 at Tate, GA.
The unit was acquired from Georgia Marble when
the GNRR assumed responsibility for operations of
the Georgia Marble Railroad and is restricted to
the Tate yard and Georgia Marble branch. The
locomotive entered service as Southern Railway
2274 in 1948 and later carried the number 1065
for the Southern and its subsidiary CNO&TP
before being sold to Georgia Marble in 1981.
