Walton Rail operates three separate lines in
Georgia. The first line is an ex-Georgia Railroad
branch that runs from a connection with CSX at
Social Circle to Monroe, 10 miles. The second is
an ex-Central of Georgia branch that runs from a
connection with Norfolk Southern at Machern to a
connection with CSX at Covington, 25 miles. The
third is an ex-Southern branch that runs from a
connection with NS at Toccoa to Elberton, 49
miles. Great Walton Rail operates this line for
the Hartwell Railroad, which operates an
ex-Southern line from a connection with Great
Walton Rail at Bowersville, GA to Hartwell.
